Family Friendly Day Trips from Marrakech
Marrakech is a good city for families when the days are chosen well. These tours have child prices, easy walking or plenty of things to see, and we are honest about the age limits.
Choose your day
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before. No online payment, you pay on the day.
How child prices work
On most tours, children aged 4 to 11 pay a child price, which you see in the booking box on each tour page. Adults and children from 12 pay the adult price. The buggy tours are priced per buggy, which seats two people. Tours that run as a private vehicle, such as the horse carriage, have one price for the group.
Family friendly day trips we recommend
Camel safari in the Palmeraie
A gentle hour on a camel through the palm grove, then tea and Moroccan pancakes. Children from four years old can ride with an adult. It is short, easy and a highlight for most children.
Ourika Valley
A green valley, a Berber house, an argan cooperative and the waterfalls at Setti Fatma. The day is eight hours, with about an hour and a quarter of driving each way. The first waterfall is an easy walk. The higher falls are steep and rocky, so older children and teenagers enjoy it most.
Essaouira
The coast is a break from the heat. The medina is flat and easy to walk, the port is full of blue boats and gulls, and lunch is grilled fish. It is a long day, with about two and a half to three hours of driving each way, so bring snacks, games and a light jacket for the wind.
Gardens tour
The Jardin Majorelle and Le Jardin Secret are mostly flat, easy for all ages, and finish in four hours. Majorelle tickets are timed, and we book them for you.
Agafay sunset dinner
Camels, a camp with lanterns, music and a fire show. It is a late evening, with a 5 hour round trip, so it suits school age children more than toddlers.
Age limits you should know
- Camel ride: children from 4, riding with an adult.
- Buggy: drivers over 18, passengers at least 10, and under 18 they ride with a parent.
- Quad: drivers must be 16 or older. Younger children can ride as passengers. Write to us with ages before booking.
- Hot air balloon: not for children under 5. It is an early start, so it suits older children and teenagers best.
- Long days: Ouzoud (about 10 hours) and the Road of the Kasbahs (about 12 hours) are very long for small children.
Tips for a calm family day
- Choose the morning start for walking tours in summer.
- Bring water, sun hats, sunscreen and some snacks.
- Pack a warm layer for evenings in the desert and for the mountains.
- Tell us the children's ages and any food needs when you book, and we adapt the day.
- Consider a private tour, so the pace follows the children and you can stop when you need to.
